As anyone with experience of promoting websites will be aware, there are literally thousands, if not millions of tools and services available on the Internet to boost hits on your site. How effective they are in terms of acquiring genuine visitors is concerned is at best debatable, but in my opinion most fail immediately after they send a client to your site.

Why? In most cases the visit duration won't last long enough for your average counter to register. If you don't believe me, check the terms and conditions of such programs and you will see that they all contain a clause stating that their own statistics are final and may differ from your own. Hardly assuring.
